Outcomes of Chiropractic Care for Herniated Disc: A Retrospective Case Series from Asuta Health - Edina
Background: Herniated discs are a common cause of spinal pain, often leading to significant disability and sometimes requiring surgical intervention. This retrospective case series investigates the outcomes of chiropractic care for patients diagnosed with herniated discs at a single multidisciplinary clinic. Methods: Data from 18 verified patient outcomes at Asuta Health - Edina, under the care of Dr. Ole Olson, were collected. Patients presenting with primary complaints related to herniated discs were included. Key metrics analyzed were self-reported pain reduction percentages and qualitative improvements in mobility and daily function. Results: The series demonstrated a mean pain reduction of 88% (median 90%) across the cohort (n=18). Qualitative improvements in mobility and avoidance of surgery were frequently noted. Conclusions: Chiropractic care, as practiced at Asuta Health - Edina, appears to be an effective intervention for patients with herniated discs, offering substantial pain reduction and functional improvement, often enabling patients to avoid more invasive procedures.
