Outcomes of Chiropractic Care for Chronic Back Pain: A Retrospective Case Series from Family Tree Chiropractic
Abstract
Background: Chronic back pain is a prevalent and debilitating condition globally. This article presents a retrospective case series examining the outcomes of chiropractic care for individuals experiencing chronic back pain at Family Tree Chiropractic. Methods: This study retrospectively analyzed the de-identified records of three patients who presented to Family Tree Chiropractic in Oklahoma City, OK, with a chief complaint of chronic back pain. Inclusion criteria included documented evidence of chronic back pain and subsequent chiropractic care at the clinic. Patient stories and reported outcomes, such as changes in pain levels and ability to perform daily activities, were extracted. Results: In this series of three cases, patients reported notable improvements. One patient reported reduced back pain allowing a return to enjoyable activities. Another patient, after seven years of ongoing chiropractic care, reported being free from back pain. A third patient also reported a reduction in back pain, enabling participation in previously limited activities. Quantitative pain reduction and mobility improvement percentages were not tracked for these cases. Conclusions: The cases presented suggest that chiropractic care, incorporating techniques such as adjustments, spinal decompression, and therapeutic massage, may be associated with positive outcomes for individuals with chronic back pain, including pain reduction and increased functional capacity. Further prospective research with standardized outcome measures is warranted.
Methods

Discussion
The outcomes observed in this retrospective case series from Family Tree Chiropractic suggest that chiropractic care may be a beneficial option for individuals suffering from chronic back pain.
